Since the 11th of January, all children in St. Eithne’s have been busy posting fantastic work to Class Dojo. Teachers have been using different online tools and resources to prerecord teaching methods for certain topics, especially for Literacy, Numeracy and Gaeilge. All class teachers and support teachers have also been doing Zoom classes during the week. The girls have found that this is a great way to stay in touch before we return to school shortly. Check out some of the things that classes have been getting up to during the past three weeks:

Teachers in St Eithne’s have been choosing a pupil from their class to win the ‘Engager of the class award’ each week. Ms. Heffernan then sends the prizes home!!!

4th Class had an Amazing Zoom Class with Ginny from @BraintasticSci – thank you so much for answering all our questions on our senses.

Last week, we found out that we have been accepted to participate in the 2021 SFI Badge of Excellence as we previously received the Plaque of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). Only 30 schools in the country have been chosen to participate. The Badge of Excellence for STEM Awareness will focus on outcomes for increasing awareness and excitement about Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) among pupils, teachers and parents. We are all very excited.
For one of our weekly competitions, we asked the girls to take part in the ‘Skeleton Challenge’, where they were asked to create a skeleton version of themselves using household items. Take a look at the video below to see how they got on.
